Who We Help
- Owners who expect to sell or transition within the next one to ten years
- Owners who have received an unsolicited offer and don’t know what the business is actually worth
- Families where the business is most of the net worth and there is no plan if something happens first
- Owners planning an internal transition — to children, to management, or to an ESOP
- Owners who have already sold and now hold proceeds that have to last permanently
Before, During and After
- Before — business valuation and value-gap analysis, readiness assessment, and the tax and estate work that only counts years out
- Before — entity and ownership structuring, key-employee retention, and pre-sale trust planning while it still qualifies
- During — one seat accountable to your family, alongside your investment banker, M&A attorney and CPA
- During — modelling deal structures for what you actually net, not just the headline price
- After — a plan for proceeds that now have to support a family permanently
- After — the Family CFO relationship that continues once the transaction team has gone
What We Don’t Do
- We don’t broker the sale or represent you as an investment bank
- We don’t provide a certified appraisal or a fairness opinion
- We don’t give legal or tax advice — we work with the attorneys and CPAs who do
- We don’t disappear at closing, which is when most of the advisory team does
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a CEPA?
Certified Exit Planning Advisor — a credential from the Exit Planning Institute focused on preparing a business and its owner for a transition, covering value growth, readiness, and the personal and financial planning around a sale.
How early should we start?
Most meaningful tax and estate planning has to be in place well before a letter of intent. Three to five years gives real room; one year still helps; after a signed LOI the options narrow sharply.
Is your valuation an appraisal?
No. Our business valuation and exit planning work is educational and planning in nature. It is not an appraisal, a fairness opinion, or a solicitation to buy or sell a business.
What if I’m not sure I want to sell?
That is the usual starting point. Understanding what the business is worth, and what would have to be true to sell it well, is useful whether or not you ever do.
We don’t. Live Your One Best Life
